Wednesfield Aces will be staging the national round 3 of the BY&JL on Saturday 4th September starting at 12.00,     

The event will attract hundreds of young cycle speedway riders from all corners of the country, they will be racing in 7 different age categories for Under 8s, 10s, 12s, 14s, 16s, 18s and a section for girls age 12 to 17, the points the riders score all add to their teams total at the end of the days racing,

Clubs that have qualified for the national stages of the league this year are Wednesfield, Sheffield, Kesgrave, Poole, Ipswich and East Newport,these teams can enter as many riders as they wish also joining these riders will be the top six grand prix riders from each of  the regional rounds

Running alongside the team event is a individual grand-prix with the top 16 points scorers from each age category qualifying for A,B,C,D, Finals, with their total points from all the rounds being added to decide who is the grand-prix champion for the different ages,

The League is sponsored by Wosskow-Brown Solicitors and they provide trophies for the winners.

A short history of the Club

Wednesfield Aces were founded on the 17th of March 1962 by two school friends Paul Bodley and David Parry, the original name of the Club was ”Ashmore Dragons” and the Club raced in the local Wolverhamton League. In 1964 the Club was renamed “Wednesfield Dragons” finally in 1965 the “Wednesfield Aces “name was adopted.
